Danish defence technology startup Triton Depth has secured DKK 7.5 million in seed funding to develop underwater surveillance technology designed to detect drones and monitor critical maritime infrastructure.
The investment round is led by EIFO, Denmark's Export and Investment Fund, and The Creator Fund, a European deep-tech investor.
Advertisement- The investment enables us to accelerate the development of our sensor network, increase deployments and build the large dataset needed to improve detection and classification, says Carl Borg, CEO and co-founder, in a press release.
AdvertisementThe funding comes as governments across Europe increase their focus on protecting undersea infrastructure following incidents involving damaged cables and growing use of unmanned underwater systems.
Founded in 2025 by three engineers from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Triton Depth is developing networks of passive acoustic sensors that continuously monitor underwater activity. The technology is already being tested in selected Danish ports.
AdvertisementThe company's autonomous sensors are deployed on the seabed, where they analyse acoustic signatures using AI to detect and classify vessels or underwater objects before sending alerts to operators.
According to Triton Depth, the funding will support further technology development, larger deployments and improved AI models.
